How to get involved?
Volunteer Opportunities
Join our growing network of passionate volunteers helping animals across Abu Dhabi. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds to contribute their time, talents, and voice to improve animal welfare. When filling out our Volunteer Application Form, you can select one or more of the following roles:
Volunteer Roles – Choose Your Way to Help
1. AWAD Education Program Volunteer – Join us in delivering informative talks on important topics such as responsible pet ownership, sterilization of pets, adoption and rehoming, community cat care, and more.
Education Programs
For Schools
- Volunteers can train as an AWD DMT educator and deliver this program to kids 3-18yrs in the community.
- In addition, AWAD have material on other Animal Welfare topics that can be presented at community events.
- Pet care and compassion
- Animal safety and responsible ownership
- The role of rescue and adoption
- Career paths in animal welfare
For Communities
We also run awareness sessions and educational workshops in neighborhoods, parks, and community centers—promoting humane treatment of animals, TNVMR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Microchip-Return) education, and how to help strays safely. Volunteers can support AWAD with organizing and facilitating these sessions, engaging with community members, distributing educational materials, and serving as ambassadors for responsible animal welfare practices.

2. AWAD Animal Welfare Guardian
Become a mystery shopper for AWAD, helping us identify compliance issues in pet shops. Your observations will assist in ensuring proper standards are met and prompt necessary action by authorities.
3. AWAD Helpline Volunteer
Be the supportive voice for those in need. Provide general and educational advice over the phone and direct calls to the appropriate resources to resolve various animal welfare concerns.
4. AWAD Foster Home Volunteer
Help us by offering a temporary, loving home to animals in need. Your role is crucial as we start our journey to assist animals of all kinds and find them forever homes.
5. AWAD Event Volunteer
Assist in organizing and running various events such as adoption days, fundraising activities, and community outreach events to support AWAD’s mission and raise awareness.

School Partnerships
